Happy Birthday Jocelyn. Jocelyn loves, loves, loves bacon and wanted to incorporate it into her birthday this year.
My very first shoe cake. Oh my, this was quite the job. I had 48 hours to get this done. Originally the client wanted a high heel with a shoe box. I tried and tried but a shoe needs a minimum of a week to dry properly. Somehow, I thought I could make it happen. I sculpted the shoe and let it dry. The next day I try to work with it and it cracked. Backup plan in gear, form the shoe in rice treats and away we go. Well the shoe cracked again. So here we were with the rice treat mold of two shoes laying flat. What to do, a sandal was my only option. My client was so very understanding and for that I am soooooooooo grateful. I was pleased with the outcome, for my first time. Practice will make perfect!
